GDPR Disclosure

Definitions

As used in this disclosure;

Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person,

Personal Data Protection Law (“KVKK”): The Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, published in the Official Gazette on 7 April 2016,

General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”): Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council,

Izmir Jewish Community Foundation: The Izmir Jewish Community Foundation located at 1390 Sok. No. 4 Alsancak, Izmir, Turkiye.

Data Processor: A natural or legal person who processes Personal Data on behalf of the Data Controller, based on the authority granted by the Data Controller,

Data Controller: A natural or legal person who determines the purposes and means of processing Personal Data and is responsible for the establishment and management of the data recording system.

Data Controller

In accordance with KVKK and GDPR, your personal data shared through our website and/or forms within the scope of the Despertar Izmir project (Empowering the Jewish Community of Izmir through Inclusive Leadership) is processed by the Izmir Jewish Community Foundation within the following scope.

The Users personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

  • Carrying out all necessary procedures to provide opportunities such as invitations and event participation, and to make them available to the User,
  • Providing information about services and content to be offered,
  • Evaluating personal data and information in statistical studies without disclosing identity, in order to improve services,
  • Identifying the Users preferences and needs, and shaping and updating services accordingly,
  • Informing the User about requested information, events, and services,
  • Evaluating complaints and applications made by the User,
  • Recommending new events and services that may interest the User based on their preferences,
  • Reminding the User, at their discretion, of content and opportunities they have liked, may wish to access again, or would appreciate being reminded of,
  • Conducting research on user profiles, interests, and behaviours based on information provided by the User, generating anonymous, aggregate, and statistical information, and combining this with other members data to improve the Foundations content,
  • Conducting analysis and audits to improve the quality of services offered and to develop new services,
  • Identifying the User through matching with other data obtained from the channels described above, and using the data in accordance with the purpose for which it was collected,
  • Notifying the User and sending electronic messages regarding events owned, supported, or promoted by the Foundation,
  • Retaining CVs and interview and reference check notes from the job application evaluation process, in order to offer a new position to job applicants when a suitable position becomes available,
  • Retaining CVs and interview and reference check notes in order to offer a new position to former employees when a suitable position becomes available, and providing productivity and performance references to new employers upon request,

in the manner required or mandated by legal regulations, in order to ensure the fulfilment of legal obligations.

Rights of the Data Subject

Pursuant to Article 11 of KVKK and the relevant provisions of GDPR, everyone has the right to apply to the Data Controller and request the following regarding themselves:

a) To learn whether their personal data has been processed,
b) To request information if their personal data has been processed,
c) To learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used in accordance with their purpose,
d) To know the third parties to whom personal data has been transferred domestically or abroad,
e) To request the correction of personal data if it has been processed incompletely or incorrectly,
f) To request the deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of the conditions set out in Article 7 of KVKK,
g) To request that the operations carried out pursuant to paragraphs (e) and (f) be notified to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,
h) To object to the emergence of a result against the person themselves through the analysis of processed data exclusively by automated systems,
i) To claim compensation for damages arising from the unlawful processing of personal data.

If you apply in writing to the Izmir Jewish Community Foundation regarding the above-mentioned rights, your request will be answered free of charge within 30 (thirty) days at the latest, depending on the nature of your request. You must submit your application in a clear manner, including documents verifying your identity and address, in writing with a wet signature, either in person, by post, or through a notary to our address.
